Recent Social Justice Initiative

• On September 13, 2011, the City of Elizabeth passed a resolution sponsored by Councilwoman-at-large Patricia Perkins-Auguste, on behalf of The Road to Justice and Peace and the New Jerseyans for Alternatives for the Death Penalty, declaring September 25, 2011 National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims to honor the memories of victims and recognize the impact of homicide on surviving family and friends.
  
  As part of its mission, The Road to Justice and Peace is committed to supporting the families and loved ones of murder victims and encourages municipalities around the state and country take the initiative that the City of Elizabeth has by adopting a similar resolution.
