JUSTICE, JUSTICE THOU SHALL PURSUE! Our newly
formed non-profit organization will be guided and dedicated to
this principle. The long road to the national abolition of the
death penalty has been traveled by many citizens from different
paths. All are now walking together on this single roadway and
“The Road to Justice and Peace” organization will be an active
and prominent role in this effort.
Our organization will provide meaningful support across the
nation for families of murder victims who need assistance, to
lobby and convince the other 37 states to follow our path to
stop executions, to work with other local and state national
organizations in this quest and to develop workable plans for
alternatives to incarceration.
Recently, with a historic single press of a voting button, the
New Jersey legislature joined the march with citizens to repeal
the death penalty. Governor Jon Corzine with a careful stroke of
his pen signed this legislation and with this act brought New
Jersey’s justice system out of the dark ages and into the bright
sunlight of the 21st century.
The Founder of our non-profit organization is New Jersey State
Senator Raymond J. Lesniak who sponsored the legislation that
ended the death penalty in New Jersey. It is his belief that
this movement needs a vehicle to continue this effort
nationwide. Our organization can be the voice to not only carry
this message of abolition of the death penalty, but also to have
a role in helping those who are impacted in our criminal justice
system.
Please join us as volunteers in this effort and also to provide
a donation which is fully tax deductible to the extent allowed
by law.
